"TAMBI" Our Founder
Himself “reborn”, Tambi was a recovering alcoholic, who like many others saw the negative trend of endemic drug abuse developing in our country. Unlike most others, he pursued his vision and did something about it. He launched a massive outreach programme, counselling addicts, rich and poor, in their homes and in the streets. He helped introduce to Trinidad the fellowship of Narcotic Anonymous. Meetings were held in a garage. The need to feed and shelter many who desired recovery became evident. This need was filled in that very garage. There he founded Rebirth House.
There was Rebirth House born, as a resident facility, on June 27th, 1988. This is also “Tambi’s” birthday.
“Tambi” and Rebirth House are synonymous.
